Digitalization is a driving force behind future-oriented developments and is therefore also one of the University of Zurich’s strategic priorities. The Digital Entrepreneur Fellowships support excellent young researchers who want to bring their ideas to market and become entrepreneurs with their own spin-off.
UZH is committed to making its scientific findings available to society. The promotion of entrepreneurship is an effective way of doing this. With a Digital Entrepreneur Fellowship, young researchers have the chance to develop digital innovations into marketable products or services and to get ready to found their own spin-off. The results thus benefit society and the economy. Applications are open to UZH students and doctoral students who have a business idea based on their research results and can demonstrate the support of a professor as a mentor.
Suitable fellowship candidates are selected by a committee of experts from UZH and the private sector. The selection criteria focus on the innovative potential, scientific quality and economic feasibility of the project. The applicants’ personal potential and entrepreneurial character are also taken into account.
