The Foundation for Scientific Research at the University of Zurich (UZH) supports scientific research and teaching across all disciplines—without thematic limitations. In doing so, the foundation contributes to the breadth and diversity of research and education at UZH.
The foundation promotes research across all faculties and academic fields at the University of Zurich. Integrated into the UZH Foundation as a fund in 2023, it continues to pursue its core mission: to foster research and teaching at UZH. This includes funding for studies, experiments, measurements, surveys, scholarly editions, archival and library research, as well as contributing to the acquisition of equipment, instruments, research tools, materials (including data), and specialized literature. The fund also supports UZH faculty members in the development of their teaching activities.
In accordance with the foundation’s regulations, only applications submitted by professors and senior lecturers at the University of Zurich will be considered.
Further information about open calls and the application process can be found here.
For over 110 years, the foundation has supported projects across all faculties and disciplines. Its diversity is reflected in the range of projects funded: from analyses of youth voter turnout to research on epigenetic aging in wild mice.
